Altar Servers
We have a great program for boys and girls, fourth grade and up. An invitation is issued families once a year just before the new training begins. If your child is interested in serving please contact Cathy Barkes in the Parish Office at (747) 888-9758 or at cdbarkes@stbernardine.org.

Baptism Team
Volunteers assist families during Baptisms which take place on Sundays at 1PM & 1:45PM. You are scheduled 1-2x/month. Contact Leigh Heinzerling, 661-547-5476.

Bible Study
Read, learn and discuss passages in the Bible. This friendly group meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 AM in the Parish Library. All are welcome. Questions: contact Sue Depsky at 818.888.8200.

Book Club
Gather with friends as they read and discuss books at monthly meetings on Tuesdays at 11AM. All our welcome. Contact Sue Silva at 310-913-1377.

Brothers in Faith
This group helps men to grow as disciples in Christ by meeting other men for friendship, learning, and support. They gather every Saturday from 7-8:30AM. Contact Ken Langford, 818-512-2394.

Coffee & Donuts
Volunteers serve coffee & donuts after the Sunday 8:30 AM & 10 AM Masses. Please send a text message to Catherine Marcelino at 818-312-1115.

Cross Bearer Ministry
Volunteers represent the community by carrying the cross during Masses. Volunteers can select the dates they wish to serve. Contact Dave Goracke, 818-347-0192.

Elementary Faith FormationList Item 3
We offer a Faith Formation program to children attending public and private schools. The sessions run from the end of September thru the first week of May, and are held on Tuesday afternoons from 4PM - 5PM. Kindergarten through eighth graders are taught by trained volunteers from the parish, who are excited about their faith and the chance to share it with our children. Environment Committeee

Eucharistic Ministers
We have many trained volunteers who help to distribute Eucharist at Mass. We are always looking for new people for this rewarding ministry. Call Beth Downing at (818) 631-5700.

Facilities Committeee
The Pastor selects members based on their experience and expertise. They advise the Pastor on repairs, renovations, maintenance, and new facility projects. Contractors, tradesmen, and other professionals encouraged. Contact: Marty Paravato, at 818-888-8200.

Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound
If you or one of your family is homebound due to illness, please call the Parish Office and we will have a Eucharistic Minister bring communion to your home once a week for as long as necessary. Please contact the Parish Office at 818-888-8200.

Finance Committee
St. Bernardine’s Parish Finance Committee operates as an Ad Hoc Committee to the Parish Council and the Pastor. Its members are selected by the Pastor from the community on the basis of experience and technical skills. The Finance Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Pastor.

First Friday Mass & Lunch
On the first Fridays from October-June, we offer a special Mass at 11:30 AM in our Parish Center Chapel followed by a lunch. Volunteers are wanted to set-up, prepare, serve, and clean-up. Contact Janey Bishop at 818-570-1144.

Justice and Peace
These dedicated people collect food monthly for the Guadalupe Center Food Bank. Each Christmas, they sponsor the Adopt-A-Family program, providing food, clothing and gifts to those in need. Please contact the Parish Office at 818-888-8200.

Lectors
Volunteers read and lead us at Mass as we listen to God's Word. They are typically scheduled 1X-2X per month. Training is provided. Contact Francesca Marder 818-577-6705.

Mary and Martha’s
These ladies act as hostesses for funeral buffets in the Parish Hall and will also housesit during the services and receive food deliveries. They serve on a rotating basis, and how often they are called depends on the number of funerals. Call Chris Schehr 818-347-7744 for more information.

Music Ministry

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)List Item 4
Christian Initiation is an open-ended process of formation and education for those interested in the Catholic faith. OCIA is for those who are not baptized; those baptized in other Christian traditions, and baptized Catholics who never received Eucharist and/or Confirmation. It is a journey that invites people to broaden and deepen their prayer life, to know God through Scripture, to come to know themselves and to actively participate in parish activities. Prison Ministry
Volunteers write letters to inmates currently on death row in San Quentin. Volunteers meet to share insights & guidelines. Contact Maria Giammaeto at 818-264-9720.

Scouting

Social Activities Committee
This group brings the school and parish community together via social events. From bingo, dances, field trips, outdoor concerts and Family Fun Nights - they plan events for all ages. Ushers/Greeters
Our Ushers and Greeters welcome us as we arrive at church on Sunday. They help with the offertory collection and the distribution of communion by keeping us moving in an orderly fashion. Call Jenn Nelson at (805) 824-2269.

Women on the Journey
This group of women of all ages meets twice a month to pray, share and support one another in their roles as mothers, grandmothers, daughters and sisters. Call Jean Sampson at 818-888-7073.

Youth Ministry/Confirmation for YouthList Item 2
Youth Ministry is the place for all Junior and Senior High teens looking for a chance to learn about their faith and how to live that faith in today’s world. Youth Ministry offers an opportunity to meet other teens in a fun environment while preparing for Confirmation.
