Anointing of the Sick

"Is anyone among you sick?  He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint (him) with oil in the name of the Lord,
and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. "
                        James 5:14-15

Formerly called Extreme Unction, and commonly referred to as "The Last Rites",   the proper name of this Sacrament is the Anointing of the Sick. Nowadays, this Sacrament is commonly given to those going in for operations as well as those in all stages of sickness.

A powerful sacrament for physical illness, it is also an appropriate  prayer for mental illness.

We encourage the sick and their relatives to call us as soon as possible, and not wait until the last moment. Please contact the Parish Office at (818) 888-8200.

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
