Music Ministry
To serve as a music minister in the Catholic Church is a privilege as well as a
serious responsibility. It is a privilege because the gift of music is not given to everyone, and it is a
responsibility because musical leadership must foster the ‘full, conscious and
active participation’ of the assembly”
Elaine Rendler
Mission:
We, in St. Bernardine Music Ministry, offer our community the opportunity to join us
in sung prayer at our Sunday liturgies and other liturgical celebrations.
We constantly strive to provide quality music that is Christ centered,
and engage our community to join us in this very special form of prayer.
Goal:
This ministry provides music for our liturgies at St. Bernardine.
Two of the masses are ministered by cantors(5:00 p.m. Sat and 12:00 noon
Sun) .There are currently three choirs at St. Bernardine. “Joy
of the Harvest”, under the direction of Marilyn
Enos, ministers at the 8:30 and 10:00 Sunday masses.
“Shantigarh”, under the direction of John Bonaduce, is our Youth
Choir, which ministers at our Youth Mass, Sunday, 5:30 p.m. We also have a children’s choir, “Angel’s Encore”, under the
direction of Marilyn Enos,
which is made up of children, grades 3 – 8.
This choir sings once a month during the school year, primarily at the
8:30 a.m. mass, but also on special feasts such as Christmas and Easter.
Those who are interested in finding out more about our choirs and their
rehearsal times, are asked to contact Marilyn
Enos, Music Director.
